TRAVEL TO BOGD KHAN NATIONAL PARK
Location: 10 km to the south from Ulaanbaatar.
Features: In 1778 the Mongolian government made Bogd Khan Uul a national park to protect its beauty making Bogd Khan Uul the oldest national park in the world. Its highest point is 2268 m above sea level. Bogd Khan Uul was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on August 6, 1996 in the Cultural category. World Heritage sites are those that exhibit universal natural or cultural significance or both.
TRAVEL TO CHINGGIS KHAAN STATUE
Location: 54 km east of Ulaanbaatar in the Erdene soum of Tuv province. Features: Beautiful natural scenery on the bank of river Tuul, in the place called “Tsonjin Boldog”, the memorial place connected with historic events. The statue in total is 40m high from surface erected at about 10 m high foundation and surrounded by columns. Farsighted Chinggis Khaan holds a golden whip in his right hand. Recreation area, restaurants and souvenir shops will be located in the column surrounded base of the Statue and from here visitors will ascend to the exhibition hall using the elevator at the back of the horse. The visitors will walk to the head of the horse through the chest and back neck of the horse, where they can have farseeing and good panorama view over the complex area.
TRAVEL TO TERELJ NATIONAL PARK
Location: 65 km to the east from Ulaanbaatar. Features: Terelj National Park formed in 1993, covers 2,865 sq kilometers. This area is developing tourism since 1960. Terelj National Park mostly consisted of the picturesque place of high cliffs eroded in Mesozoic granite, creating wonderful landscape. There is a turtle shaped rock in the middle of the national park and famous Buddhist meditation temple. The average altitude of this area is 1600m and ideal for hiking, horse riding, rock climbing and rafting.
